Delivery planning
Give receiving the same attention as the order list.
Keep the destination and receiving requirements with the project. A repeat furniture list may serve a different building, so delivery arrangements should be checked again for each location.
Build a receiving brief
Include the destination ZIP code, receiving contact role, access restrictions, and preferred delivery window when discussing the order. Confirm the unloading arrangements and who is responsible for assembly or moving items inside. Keep those operational details separate from item quantities.
Verify the final schedule
Stock status and a listed price do not establish a delivery commitment. Request confirmation of shipping cost, tax, expected timing, and any split deliveries before proceeding. The project sheet records saved furniture prices only. This test storefront does not yet have approved customer shipping terms.
Add receiving to the specification
A furniture schedule describes what is needed. A receiving record describes where and how it can arrive. Keep the delivery ZIP code, intended receiving location and access restrictions with the order so the reviewed selections are connected to a real destination.
Check the route into each room. Listed product measurements do not necessarily describe packaged dimensions or the form in which a piece arrives. Ask for the information needed to assess doorways, turns, stairs and elevators when access is limited.
Identify the site constraints
- Record delivery hours and any vehicle restrictions.
- Identify who can receive and inspect the shipment.
- Note stairs, elevator access and restricted unloading areas.
- Confirm whether assembly or placement is included in the agreed service.
Do not carry a delivery assumption from one location into another simply because the furniture list was copied. Requested dates, shipping charges and tax need confirmation for the actual destination and order.
Keep the order record available
Download the saved sheet from project lists after updating the rooms and quantities. Keep it alongside the reviewed order confirmation so the receiving team can identify the intended models and finishes.
Follow the confirmed inspection and reporting instructions if something needs attention on arrival. Those procedures and the final business terms remain to be established for this preview. Review returns and changes and the ordering sequence before a real order moves forward.
