Specifying a diner package
Diner concepts typically order chairs, booths, and counter stools together, so treat them as one package with one vinyl specification. Record vinyl color on every line, chairs, booth seats, and stools, and confirm that the color name is identical across product types. Custom vinyl colors count as custom items: allow roughly eight weeks, and expect no returns on them.
For franchise or multi-unit rollouts, pick one back design as the standard, with an optional second for flagship locations. Coordinate with diner booths and retro bar stools on parallel lines.
Vinyl wipes clean between guests; specify routine seam inspection in the maintenance plan so small tears are repaired before they widen. Channel and tufted backs have more seams and buttons for housekeeping to clean around, while plain and V-shape backs present a smoother surface, so factor that into cleaning time at high-volume locations.
Diner chairs usually sit at freestanding tables between booth rows, so count them from the floor plan after the booths are laid out. Hotel coffee shops can use the plain back for a quieter look in the same vinyl as the lobby seating, which keeps two spaces on one upholstery order.
Receiving upholstered diner chairs
Upholstered chairs should be inspected at delivery for punctures or crushed corners before signing. Anything visibly wrong goes on the bill of lading; if time is short, sign it as subject to inspection. Hidden damage found later must be reported within 24 hours. Liftgate service must be requested on the order for sites without a dock. Keep each unit's list in Project lists. Other upholstered lines live in the parent restaurant chairs category.
